The oddmakers at BetOnline.ag created some really interesting lines for this upcoming 2025-2026 NFL season.

They worked on and opened parlay odds for a team to win the Super Bowl while they have a player that wins the Regular Season MVP.

If you read my emails, you know I’m a nerd for stuff like this so I worked on a list of players and years this happened in the NFL. Please keep in mind that obviously Brett Favre winning the 1996 MVP means he had to win the Super Bowl in 1997.

It’s much rarer than I expected (especially in the 21st century). Aaron Rodgers has four, Peyton Manning has five and Tom Brady has three and none of them won a Super Bowl in their MVP seasons.

It happened most frequently (five times) in the 1990’s.

My favorite instance of this was when the Washington Redskins kicker, Mark Moseley, won the award in 1982. The voters should be ashamed of themselves!
